OpenID on OpenSSO

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Paul Bryan, one of our ‘external’ OpenSSO committers, has been hard at work implementing an OpenID identity provider for OpenSSO. You can take a look at his work so far at openid.pbryan.com – by the time you read this, there might even be some test accounts available there to play with. I spent a happy half hour last night logging into Jyte, FirstSSO, OpenID Wiki and more.

Watch for the source appearing at OpenSSO any day now…

Development in the Open II – OpenSSO WS-Federation SDD Posted

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Well, I’ve been beavering away on the design for WS-Federation support in OpenSSO [PDF]. I just uploaded it to the OpenSSO project site and sent it to the dev@opensso mailing list. It’s a first draft, so there are places that need some more detail and clarity, but I think it’s ready for a first review. If you do have any feedback, then please sign up to the OpenSSO project and submit your comments via the dev mailing list.

Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 is here!

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

You might have seen the news today that Sun just released Java Enterprise System 5. While it’s not called out in the press release, Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 is part of Java ES 5. Although it’s been widely previewed in beta in the Netbeans Enterprise Pack and Java EE SDK, it’s still worth calling out the new features:

So, go to the download page, grab Access Manager 7.1 and give it a whirl. It’s in all of the system/suite downloads except the availability suite.

“Another OpenSSO/Access Manager/Federation Manager Blogger”

Added Warren Strange, Senior IT Architect up in Calgary, Alberta, to the list. Warren has just written a fascinating entry on integrating OpenSSO with JBoss SEAM. Well worth a read, particularly if you are working with SEAM and wondering about authentication.

Welcome, Warren!
